Tourmaline is classified as a semi-precious stone and the gemstone comes in a wide variety of colors.
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a rectangular shaped bullet. The cover of the lipstick is like a hologram and you keep staring at it continuously. The color of the cap is similar to shade of the lipstick. The tube inside is metallic and the look and feel is quiet expensive. The sad part about the metallic tube is that it attracts a lot of fingerprints.
Color: The lipstick is pink tourmaline in color and stands true to its name. The color is warm pink with slight blue undertones. It has fine shimmer in it. It won’t make your lips shine out of the place but will give a decent definition to them. The color will suit cool tone and golden tone ladies well. MAC skin tones NC20 to NC35 can best carry of this color. The color has a bit of frosty look as well but as I said in the festive spirit it enhances the beauty. I advise you to exfoliate your lips properly before wearing this shade.
Texture: The lipstick is butter smooth. It glides on easily. It doesn’t need tugging or pulling. One application gives an opaque coverage and you can go for the second one to build up the color.
Staying power and other factors: The lipstick stayed on me for 4-5 hours with meals in between. The color goes off after 3 hours leaving a nice stain. The stain doesn’t look gritty to me and leaves in some time. The problem I faced on this front is that this lipstick transfers crazily. It will get transferred to coffee mugs, water glass etc. So make sure you effectively dab it with a tissue before leaving it on.
Final verdict: This lipstick does need some preparation to wear. So if you are in a festive mood and want some celebration on the lips do go for this shade. You can rock it at night time the most.
