Key Ingredients of the nail color are not mentioned on the packaging, which is a big con. For a popular brand like Maybelline New York, this is not acceptable.

Packaging
The nail polish comes in a cylindrical glass bottle with a simple black-colored plastic cap that sits tightly on the opening of the bottle. It is a transparent bottle like other nail lacquer bottles and allows you to see the product from the outside. The name and number of the shade are written on the top of the cap, which makes it easy to spot in the stash. It also comes with a flat, easy-flow brush for easy and smooth product application. As a whole, it is a bright, sturdy, and travel-friendly packaging.
Look And Feel
This nail color is neither too runny nor too thick. It is of perfect medium consistency that makes the application easy and convenient. The shade is an ultra-glamorous hot red shade, a must-have for everyone. It has a typical varnish-like smell of nail paints.

My Take
I chose ‘Downtown Red’ (Shade No. 216) as I wanted something red and festive for my nails. The moment I saw this color, I knew I would get it.
Red is a classy natural color, and this shade spells glamourrrrrrrrrr!! The color of the varnish is deep apple red and not the dull red we see in retro movies. It brings out a superior look by making my hands look more fair and feminine than they are. They look super sexy when I apply this color to my nails. So, all gals out there with long nails, you must have this shade! It is available in as many as 33 bold and beautiful shades so that you never fail to find the perfect shade for your skin tone.
The performance of this nail color is fantastic. Both the color and the brush are of excellent quality. Hence, it spreads evenly on the nails without causing any tugging or pulling. The nail paint also dries up pretty fast so that you do not need to wait long for starting your task after applying it. Furthermore, it gives a smooth and glossy finish. Interestingly, the shiny effect remains even after 2 days of wearing it, and the paint does not get chipped even after 4-5 days. I did not expect it from this budget nail paint. So Yay!!!
The nail color comes off easily with a good quality remover. It also does not leave any yellow cast on the nails after the removal. It is undoubtedly appreciable as lots of nail paints available in the market cause yellow cast over the nails after removal, which is very bad for the health of our nails.

How To Apply
- Apply a clear base coat to help prevent your nails from yellowing and to extend the life of your nail polish color.
- Brush one coat of lacquer from the center of your nail, starting from the base to the tip.
- For the cleanest look, leave a small space at the base of the nail, then apply polish to the rest of the nail.

Final Verdict
This deep red shade will surely raise the glamour quotient (I have started admiring my hands 10 times each day since I have applied this on my nails). It is the festive season, and what more do you want on your hands than a deep red color! I recommend it highly to everyone, especially those with long beautiful nails. I have decided to stock up a few of them as they are very much within the budget.
