Lotus Sweat and Waterproof Sun Block Cream with SPF 30 Review

I have had bad experiences with sunscreen lotions. Every time I get something which is said to be an effective sunblock, it either makes my skin oily or leaves a white cast or in the worst case causes rashes. So with all such horrible experiences in my basket I tend to avoid them.

But recently I had to go for a 2 day trekking. And I knew it would be scorching heat most of the time. So I had no other option than to carry a sunscreen with me in case I don’t want to damage my skin. So with heavy heart I got a new sunscreen lotion, this time from lotus. Read on the review to know more about the same.

Lotus Sweat and Waterproof Sun Block Cream

This lotion claims that it can be applied on face as well. And to my surprise I did not get tanned at all. Neither did I feel any kind of burning sensation on my skin and face. Here are few more details about the cream.

Packaging: The cream comes in a bright yellow tube. The entire casing is made of good quality plastic. It has a flip open cap and it closes securely. I carried it around and it did not spill or anything.

Texture and consistency: The cream is neither runny nor too creamy. It glides on smoothly and gets absorbed quickly. It doesn’t form a thick layer but a somewhat thin layer. You can feel it but you cannot see it. It gives a super matte finish which I totally love.

Smell: The smell of the product is pleasant. It’s not disturbing or overpowering. It won’t stay long anyways so you don’t have to worry much about it.

Performance: The lotion settles on the skin in a thin layer. It gives a matte finish. Initially I was worried as it would lead to clogged pores but I have been using it daily and I haven’t faced any problems yet. The finish is very good and it doesn’t leave a white cast behind like other creams.

A small quantity is enough for hands and legs. You don’t need too much cream to cover all the areas. This tube will last for 4 months easily. Regarding the anti-sweat properties I think it pretty much stands up to the mark. I did not feel any sweaty or greasy feeling when I used this lotion.

I would say it’s not as waterproof as it claims. I need to reapply it if it gets washed out with water and does stay true to claim. They have another SPF 70 variant which is best suited for intense summers.

Final verdict: I think this is a sunscreen lotion which you should use every day. It will give the much needed sun protection needed by your skin.
