While most of us have been told that the conditioner goes on the tips of the hair after rinsing the shampoo, head and shoulders came up with this new product which is a conditioner that can also be applied on the scalp. If you thought that there is no respite from the itchy scalp this winter, well, Head and Shoulders anti hairfall conditioner might just be what you are looking for.
Packaging and Price
It comes in a tube with a flip open cap and is priced at Rs.69 for 90 ml.
The product claims that it comes with a unique SCCS – smart care and conditioning system. It has a revolutionary HydraZinc technology that not just removes dandruff, but also eliminates its side effects like scalp itching and irritation. The conditioner is supposed to be anti-hairfall in that it controls hairfall associated with dandruff in the hair.
My experience with the Head and Shoulders Anti Hairfall conditioner
As soon as you open the cap, you get carried away by its wonderful smell. It smells so great that you cannot stop yourself from using the product in a bid to have sweet smelling hair. It is an orange colored conditioner that has a thick creamy texture, more like a cold cream.
As per the pack instructions, I used it after rinsing my hair after shampoo. I took a pea sized amount of the conditioner and applied it all over my scalp and ran it over the body of my hair. Make sure to take it in small parts from the tube and apply on different sections, else the product will slip out of your hands and simply get wasted. Massage it well on the scalp and let it remain on your scalp for a few minutes while the fragrance lingers around.
Rinse well after a few minutes. It would need a lot of rinsing since the conditioner makes your hair really soft and you keep having the doubt that some of it is still remaining in your hair. It would need a little getting used to in order to know when to stop rinsing. Dry your hair as usual.
The conditioner(in tandem with the anti-dandruff shampoo, of course) not only helped me get rid of itching and dandruff, but also made my hair really smooth. However, one major problem is that, the day after shampooing, my hair starts looking limp and the scalp starts turning oily. This is where the whole “scalp conditioner” part of it fails. Maybe it is the best solution if you have very voluminous and frizzy hair. But since I have straight and thin hair, the lack of volume starts becoming obvious a day after the application of the conditioner.
Thankfully, the husband has a thick mop of hair and he loves how it tames his hair. So for me, the purchase did not go waste. So if you have very unmanageable and thick hair and want a solution for dandruff relief and conditioning, then Head and Shoulders anti hair fall conditioner is the way to go. If you have straight hair, then using it on the scalp would mean shampooing more often than usual to get back the bounce. And if you are not planning on using it on the scalp, you might as well stick to your regular conditioner.
- Prevents dandruff and scalp itchiness
- Has a wonderful fragrance
- Is very affordable
- Scalp conditioning tends to leave the hair limp and scalp oily.
Will I repurchase? Nope, don’t think so.
