We find ingredients that will help us achieve just that and also restore the natural oil balance of the skin. These homemade moisturizers are easy to make and you can use them on your face and all over your body and pamper your skin.

Beeswax Moisturizer

Beeswax Moisturizer

Beeswax is a natural by product of honey extraction. It is the wax that lines the honeycombs. It has excellent moisturizing properties and does the same work as petroleum jelly with the added advantage that it is all natural. You get it in craft stores and also some pharmacies. Melt 3 tbsp of beeswax in a double boiler and add to it ½ a cup of virgin coconut oil. To this add 2-3 drops of your favorite essential oil and mix well. Then stir in ½ cup of distilled water and whip using a spatula. Store in an airtight container in a cool and dry place. This moisturizer is also great for cracked heels and severe eczema.

A light and refreshing moisturizing spray

If all that you need is a light and refreshing burst of moisturization, then you can make this spray, put it in a spray bottle and spritz it all over your body in order to hydrate it quickly and easily. In a vessel, take about half a cup of distilled water and add to it two tsp of glycerin. Then top it with a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Mix well. Store it in a spray bottle and refrigerate to get maximum freshness out of it. When needed, simply spray the liquid all over the body for sweet smelling hydration. You can double the quantity and make a bigger batch, but try and make a small quantity that you can finish in a week- the fresher the better.

Coconut oil Moisturizer

It doesn’t get any simpler than this. Take 60 ml of coconut oil. Pick out your favorite essential oil and add one cap of the essential oil into the coconut oil. Use this immediately after the bath, all over the body to seal in moisture, to smell great and have soft skin throughout the day!
