DIY: 9 Steps to Thread Your Eyebrows Perfectly at Home

Running out of time to go to the beauty salon and get your eyebrows shaped? Relax! You can do it at your home all by yourself. No, I’m not talking about tweezing. Rather, I’m going to tell you about the step-by-step method to thread your eyebrows perfectly. Here it is:

Thread Your Eyebrows

Step 1

At first, you need to gather all those things that are required during the process. Well, it does not mean that you have to go and get some rare materials. Just a smooth thread, a few ice cubes or some ice-cold water and an eyebrow pencil will do. We suggest that you keep these items handy to avoid a last-minute mess.

Step 2

Grip both ends of the thread and tie them up together so that a circular shape is formed. If you find any extra thread hanging afar the knot, simply snip it off.

Step 3

Take the part of the thread containing the knot in your right hand. The rest part of the thread should be held in your left hand at the same time.

Step 4

Keep your right hand firm and twirl your left hand at least 4 to 5 times. This way, the thread will take the shape of an hourglass. However, make sure that you hold the portion of the thread present in your right hand securely. Or else, the knot will move towards the center of the thread and you will face difficulty in going ahead.

Step 5

Now, it is time to learn the actual task. Basically, you have to open one hand and close the other simultaneously. It means, when you open your right hand, your left hand should be closed and vice versa. The section of the thread, which gets twisted in the middle, will get into the action and start plucking the hairs. This is called the ‘scissor motion’ and one can master it only by practicing regularly.

Step 6

Once you become accustomed with the procedure, rub the skin around your eyebrows with the ice cubes or the ice-cold water. Draw the brows with the pencil to give it your desired shape. Start with holding both of your hands up near your eyes. Your fingers should be placed over one of your eyebrows in such a way that they do not face your eyes.

Step 7

Position the thread properly over your eyebrow. It should now take a triangular form and the hair that you are going to remove right away should remain at the middle of the triangle. Start to thread or pluck out the hair by pulling them against the direction of their growth. To do so, you have to move the top angular point of the triangle slowly and carefully.

Step 8

While moving the point of the triangle, try to follow the scissor motion by closing that hand and opening the other. The triangular thread should still be in contact with the skin and make sure that you alter the movement very fast. That is the moment of changing the motion when the hair will be plucked out.

Step 9

Repeat the process for rest of the task and finish doing both of your eyebrows perfectly. For better results, keep practicing the scissor motion unless and until you become skilled at it.
