We often pay a lot of attention to our face – scrubbing, toning, moisturizing it and in the process tend to ignore the body altogether. All that it gets is a quick shower and some moisturizing lotion if time permits. Over time, the neglect starts showing with the skin on your body becoming dull and dry. Your hands and legs also need the same kind of attention as your face, if not more. And body care is not a very time consuming ritual that needs lots of products too. Once in a week, invest some time to have a longer bath where in you can give your body a good rub down with a scrub to remove all the dead cells, to feed the skin some oil and to get your skin glowing like never before.

1. Coffee scrub
Mix together 2 tbsp of coffee powder with equal parts sugar. Add to it 2 tsp of olive oil and some honey. Make a thick paste. Apply this paste all over wet skin in circular motion. Follow it up with your regular soap/shower gel routine. Do it weekly to get rid of dead cells and cellulite.

2. Cinnamon Sugar scrub
Mix together 1 cup of sugar with a tsp of cinnamon powder. Store this in a container. Whenever needed, add some olive oil to this mixture and use it to scrub your body with it. The sugar will help remove dull skin and the cinnamon will leave you smelling wonderful!
3. Oatmeal scrub
Oats are versatile, in that, they gently scrub the skin on your face and when combined with something stronger like sugar, they can help in exfoliating really stubborn skin. Combine together equal parts of oats and sugar and store. For use, take some amount of this mixture and use some milk to make a paste with it. Apply this paste all over the body and scrub well. The milk helps cleanse the skin while the oats and sugar act as exfoliators.

4. Sea salt body scrub
If you can get your hands on some sea salt crystals, great, since they are loaded with minerals. Else, you can make do with some rock salt too. For this scrub, mix together half a cup of rock salt with some baby oil and a few drops of your favourite essential oil. Get into the shower and scrub your body well with this. The oil helps to moisturize your skin while the sea salt sloughs away all dead cells revealing really fresh skin.
5. Vanilla and brown sugar scrub
The moist earthy qualities of brown sugar make it a great ingredient for a scrub. For this simple scrub, simply add a few drops of vanilla extract or vanilla powder to a jar of brown sugar. Scrub away to get soft and smooth skin.
6. Coconut milk and ginger scrub
Coconut milk provides deep conditioning to the hair. Same way, when applied on the skin, it gives intense moisture to it. To half a cup of coconut milk, add a good dose of ginger shavings and two tsp of sugar. Use this scrub on the skin for a fragrant pampering bath.
7. Kiwi body scrub
Notice the granules in kiwi while biting into them? These very same granules can be used to scrub your skin and give it a glow. Mash a kiwi and add to it a tsp of sugar and some olive oil to make a paste. Apply this paste all over the body and leave it on for a few minutes. Scrub well on all the dry areas to remove dead skin. 8. Rose and sugar body scrub
The granular structure of sugar makes it a versatile ingredient for body scrubs. You can throw in some rose petals into the mix, add some rose water and olive oil and voila! You have a fab smelling body scrub.
9. Orange and cocoa body scrub
Cocoa has a comforting scent while orange will has an invigorating effect on the body. Both of them have a soothing effect on the skin when used as a scrub. Mix together a spoon of cocoa powder with some orange rind, a tsp of coconut oil and a tsp of sugar to make a paste. Use it as a scrub before your bath weekly.
10. Pumpkin sugar scrub
If you have extra pumpkin at hand, then this is a fab scrub to make. Puree a slice of the pumpkin and add to it some sugar and olive oil. Make a thick paste with it. Use it as a body polish to scrub your body before bath. Pumpkin helps hydrate the skin. Olive oil helps in fighting dry skin while sugar will remove dull skin.
