Zap your Abdominal Hair easily at Home

Is abdominal hair coming in way of flaunting your favorite cropped top or draping your semi-transparent top? Do you feel awkward about having hair on the abdomen and wish for soft, smooth and fuzz-free skin? If you are not comfortable about going through a permanent hair removal solution like Laser Hair Removal or going to the salon to get your abdominal hair removed, then worry not, we tell you how you can get rid of abdominal hair easily at home.

So what are the options when it comes to removing abdominal hair safely at home? Hair removal on the abdomen is similar to hair removal on your arms or legs, just that the abdominal skin is a little more sensitive since it is less exposed to the environment. There are many remedies to remove hair immediately and some herbal remedies that will slow down hair growth and gradually cause your hair to fall off. Let us see what the remedies to remove abdominal hair are.

Remedies to remove Abdominal Hair

If you can shave the hair on your legs, you can do the same on your belly. But yes, remember that this is only for the time when you are extremely in a hurry to become hair free. Even if you are doing it, be extremely careful to not nick yourself in the process. Also remember that when the hair starts growing back up, it will start pricking and itching. So let this be the last option when it comes to hair removal. Ensure full safety using a foaming liquid and follow up with coconut oil.

Hair Depilatories

Hair depilatories or hair removal creams are among the better options for removing abdominal hair. They are pain free and a quick solution to remove hair.  However, remember that the cream is after all a chemical. Make sure that your skin is not allergic to it before use.

Waxing is a lasting solution to hair removal. If you are trying it at home, then make sure that you know your strokes and are deft and quick. Waxing will be painful but will leave you fuzz free for a good month. Over time, with waxing, the hair growth will reduce. But if not done correctly, waxing can give you ingrown hair and can be very messy.

Sugaring is an alternative to waxing. In place of wax that can have resins and chemicals, sugaring is a natural alternative made from sugar, lemon juice and water, boiled for half an hour to get a thick sticky liquid. It is to be applied on the skin and hair removal is done similar to waxing using a piece of cloth but in the direction of hair growth. This is a completely natural alternative that also prevents ingrown hair.

Other Home remedies that reduce hair growth

  • Drink a cup of spearmint tea everyday. It reduces the amount of androgen in the body, the primary source of hair growth on the abdomen.
  • Make a paste of a few basil leaves with the thin translucent membranes in onions. Apply this paste on the skin in the direction of hair growth. Wipe it off opposite to the direction of hair growth once it dries. Doing this regularly will significantly reduce body hair.
  • Turmeric is another magical ingredient that helps remove unwanted hair and curb hair growth. Apply a paste of turmeric with neem leaves on the abdomen everyday during your bath. Doing this for a week will cause the hair to fall off.
  • Make a mixture of an egg white with 1 tsp of sugar and 1 tsp of cornflour. Apply this in a thin layer on your abdomen. Peel it off in the opposite direction of hair growth once it dries. Repeat twice a week and you will notice your abdominal hair falling off.
