Vitamin E Oil for Acne Scars Treatment

Many medical experts have proved that vitamin E Oil is the perfect remedy that works effectively as a tropical treatment for newly developing scars, older scars and burn scars. In fact, many commercial scar removal lotions, creams and moisturizers also contain this as its main ingredient.

If the wound is fully healed, all that is required is to massage vitamin E oil on it, ensuring maximum penetration into the skin. Vitamin E oil can penetrate skin layers and obstruct the development of collagen fibers which helps in the lightening of the scar tissues and improved circulation and formation of blood vessels.

Using the Oil

Vitamin E is an antioxidant that is available in both capsule and oil form. If you buy the capsule, you would require a sterile pin to poke it and expel the oil. Vitamin E oil is thick and greasy and is best when applied at night just before going to bed in place of a night moisturizer.

Make sure the scar area is carefully cleaned with antibacterial soap and dried to avoid any breeding grounds for contamination. Apply some oil to a cotton swab and dab it on the scar or wound lightly. Make sure you do not rub it in and only dab. Cover the scar or wound with gauze and allow it to stay there for at least 4 – 5 hours before washing with water. Repeat until the scar has vanished or the wound is healed. This can take upto a few months to heal.

Many are confused regarding the use of vitamin E oil on open wounds. Vitamin E oil can be easily applied on open wounds that close up by forming a blister to avoid permanent scarring. Once it starts healing, massage the oil on the affected area to increase the speed of the process. However, it is important to ensure that the wound is sufficiently clean to avoid contagious diseases.

Other Skin Benefits

In addition to the treatment of scars, vitamin E oil has many other benefits. Vitamin E oil when combined with Vitamin C is an excellent sun protector. Moreover, vitamin E oil can also be used to target excessive dryness of the scar tissues. When utilized instead of skin brightening creams, vitamin E oil helps repair and improve the appearance of damaged tissue as well. Massaging vitamin E oil also helps blood circulation and proper brain functioning.
