First of all, you have to collect the ingredients as well as the tools required for the procedure. Start with the major ingredient i.e. aloe vera, which can easily be found in the market. So, you can simply purchase it as a household plant and enjoy the benefits of this amazing herb whenever desired. You will need a total of 2 small bowls for holding the jelly accumulated from the leaves, and keeping the pure aloe gel separated from the white residues. Apart from these, you will also need a very sharp knife, a spoon, a strainer, and a hand blender.

Get Adequate Aloe Leaves

Now, take the knife and cut down a few thick large leaves from the base of your aloe plant at an angle. Usually, the central leaves of the plant are the widest, softest and juiciest ones as they contain the maximum amount of gel. So, picking them is the best choice always. However, the number of leaves should strictly depend on the length and thickness of your hair. If you have very thick hair of medium length, 3 full-sized leaves will be enough for conditioning it perfectly. In other cases, you have to increase or decrease the number accordingly.

Extract the Jelly from the Leaves

Keep the aloe leaves upright at least for 15 minutes as soon as you cut them. This way, the yellowish sap of the leaves will get drained out completely. Then, wash them under running water. After that, cut along the edges of the leaves with the knife and peel off the thick external surface in order to expose the internal jelly-like section. Scrape off the jelly with the help of the spoon and transfer it to a small bowl. Nevertheless, you must be very careful during this step as the sides of the aloe leaves contain a lot of thorns.

Blend the Jelly and Separate the Gel

Prior to blending the jelly, beat it a little by using the spoon so that it gets broken down. Now, pour it into the blender for preparing a puree. As aloe has good water-content, you do not need to add additional water to the blender. Once you are done with the blending, take the strainer and strain the blended substance into another small bowl. This will separate the pure aloe gel from the unwanted white deposits which, otherwise, will get trapped in your locks during conditioning.

Massage Your Hair with the Gel

Now, wash your hair thoroughly with a mild shampoo and massage your scalp with this aloe gel successively. Take your time and be gentle. You should use your fingertips for massaging and make sure that each and every hair strand is saturated or conditioned from the root to the tip. Put on a steam cap to cover your hair fully and apply heat to your hair with a regular hair dryer. Do this for at least 5 minutes and then take off the steam cap.

Rinse Off Your Hair Properly

Finally, sit under fresh running water and wash off your hair carefully. You need to ensure that no aloe gel is stuck to your hair. Or else, your hair will get tangled after rinsing. Just dry up your locks and go back to your regular hair care routine with healthy, soft and shiny locks.
