I normally like to use a home made scrub for my face, but sometimes, for the stubborn blackheads that cannot wait until the next clean-up, you do need something more effective. That is where the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub comes to my rescue.
Packaging and Price:
Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub doesn’t just fight blackheads, it helps eliminate them for clearer, smoother skin.
This gentle scrub immediately works two ways to not only clear out the blackheads you have now, but also to help prevent new ones from forming. First, you’ll feel it tingle as its maximum strength acne medicine, Salicylic Acid, penetrates deep to eliminate blackheads by removing stubborn dirt and oil trapped inside pores. Then, you’ll feel its gentle, skin-soothing microbeads exfoliate without overdrying to help stop blackheads before they start. Make blackheads a thing of the past.
My take on the Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub
The scrub is a sweet smelling pinkish liquid that comes with micro granules and orange colored bigger beads. While the pack says that it is a daily scrub, I have sensitive skin so use it twice a week to keep blackheads at bay.
Since I have oily skin and very large pores, not scrubbing well automatically means pesky blackheads and whiteheads. So when I tried the Neutrogena scrub I was surprised to find that in the first use itself, a lot of blackheads and whiteheads were removed. It works very well in the nose region and under the lower lip- the most problematic areas for me. Regular use ensures that the pores are clean and free from any dirt or deposition.
It is not a foaming scrub though. So I use it after a face wash twice a week. I simply use a pea sized amount on damp skin and work on the skin in circular motions. I scrub a little harder around the nose and under my lower lip. And then simply wash it off. The Neutrogena deep clean scrub has not caused me to break out, another plus for me. Otherwise, I have used so many other scrubs in the past which have been abrasive on the skin and have resulted in the skin getting a lot of rashes.
This mild scrub is good enough to remove mild blackheads and whiteheads. I would not advise excessive scrubbing for the more stubborn ones though since you do not want to damage your skin. The product claims that it also has blackhead fighting complex, a claim that I have no means to validate, since I use it constantly and that means constant removal of blackheads.
- Mild on the skin – does not cause me to break out.
- Regular use keeps blackheads at bay
- Is pricey when compared to other scrubs in the market
