Homemade Facial Cleansing Oils to Suit Different Skin Types


Cleansing is the most important part of our daily beauty regime. As the nature of skin differs from person to person, it is crucial to choose a suitable facial cleanser depending on our skin types. But what about ditching artificial skin cleansers and making our own facial cleansing oils at home? Here we go:


Homemade Facial Cleansing Oils

1. Facial Cleansing Oil for Neutral / Combination Skin

Ingredients:

  • Liquid castile soap – 4 tablespoons
  • Vegetable glycerin – 2 teaspoons
  • Aloe vera extract – 2 tablespoons
  • Sunflower oil – 3 tablespoons
  • Orange essential oil – 4 to 5 drops
  • Lemon essential oil – 4 to 5 drops

Preparation:

Take a transparent glass bottle. Pour the aloe vera extract, liquid castile soap, vegetable glycerin and sunflower oil into it one by one. Shake well. Add both orange and lemon essential oils to the mixture. Now, store the bottle in the refrigerator. Whenever you need a facial clean-up through the Oil Cleansing Method, take the bottle out of the refrigerator and shake nicely.

2. Facial Cleansing Oil for Dry and Damaged Skin

Ingredients:

  • Liquid castile soap – 2 tablespoons
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Aloe vera extract – 4 tablespoons
  • Vegetable glycerin – 3 tablespoons
  • Geranium essential oil – 4 to 5 drops
  • Carrot-seed essential oil – 4 to 5 drops

Preparation:

Aloe vera extract is a superfood for dry and damaged skin. Vegetable glycerin also works as a great skin-hydrating agent. So, preparing a facial cleansing oil rich in aloe as well as vegetable glycerin will be an excellent choice for you to heal and repair your mature skin. To do this, you have to combine aloe vera extract, vegetable glycerin, liquid castile soap and sunflower oil in a bottle. For an added moisturizing effect, add geranium and carrot-seed essential oil to it. Shake the bottle well and keep it in the refrigerator. It can be stored for as long as one month and do not forget to shake the mixture each time you use it.

3. Facial Cleansing Oil for Oily and Acne-Prone Skin

Ingredients:

  • Sunflower oil – 3 tablespoons
  • Aloe vera extract – 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable glycerin – 1 teaspoon
  • Liquid castile soap – 3 tablespoons
  • Tea tree essential oil – 4 to 5 drops
  • Lemon essential oil – 4 to 5 drops

Preparation:

When it comes to deep cleansing an acne-prone skin, nothing can be better than tea tree essential oil. Lemon essential oil is also known as a wonder product for treating oily skin perfectly. Hence, make your own acne-fighting facial cleansing oil by blending sunflower oil, aloe vera extract, liquid castile soap, vegetable glycerin, tea tree essential oil and lemon essential oil thoroughly. Using it regularly on your face can help reduce the oversecretion of oil glands, thereby preventing breakouts.

4. Facial Cleansing Oil for Highly Sensitive Skin

Ingredients:

  • Aloe vera extract – 4 tablespoons
  • Sunflower oil – 2 tablespoons
  • Liquid castile soap – 2 tablespoons
  • Vegetable glycerin – 1 teaspoon
  • Helichrysum Essential oil – 4 to 5 drops
  • Chamomile essential oil – 4 to 5 drops

Preparation:

Sensitive skin needs something that does not cause irritation to it. Both chamomile essential oil and helichrysum essential oils are known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which help in soothing sensitive skin. So, prepare a cleansing oil by mixing aloe vera extract, sunflower oil, vegetable glycerin, liquid castile soap, chamomile essential oil and helichrysum essential oil. Store in a glass bottle and shake it whenever you use it on your face.
