Have you already started having dry and chapped lips courtesy the harsh dry cold winds? You exfoliate your skin and get rid of dead cells and moisturize it to keep it soft and smooth in the winter. But do you also show the same tender loving care to your lips? The skin on the lips is really delicate and tends to peel off easily in the winter, leaving you with chapped lips. Put on a lipstick and you will know what I am talking about. The peeling off skin underneath the lip color is unpleasant to say the least. You may put on loads of lip balm to moisturize your lips, but what you might be forgetting is to exfoliate your lips. You need to scrub your lips not just in order for the lips to look good, but also for them to feel good. Otherwise, you will be spending all your time fiddling with your lips and peeling off bits of skin above it all the time. To avoid all that, read the article to see how easy it is to get soft lips with homemade lip scrubs that leave your lips baby smooth. Most lip scrubs use sugar as the main scrubbing ingredient. You can also use salt, but it can be stinging if you have chapped lips. So we make the whole lip scrubbing experience really sweet with our sugar lip scrubs.
Strawberry Lip Scrub
You will need:
- One strawberry, mashed
- Two tsp of sugar
- A few drops of olive oil
Mix together all the ingredients to make a smooth paste. Apply this on the lips and remove all the dead skin from it. The sugar and strawberry help in exfoliation while the olive oil will leave your lips soft and smooth. Make it in small batches and store in the fridge. You can use it once in 2-3 days. It will stay good for a week.
Coconut Honey Lip scrub
You will need:
- One tsp virgin coconut oil
- One tsp honey
- 2 tsp brown sugar
Brown sugar or cane sugar is not too granulated and is moist, therefore it is milder on your lips than regular sugar. Mix together the ingredients and smooth it on your lips in circular motions. Excess scrub can also be used on the face or as a body scrub.
